The Essex Winter Series is a series of flat water races, run over the winter months every year, held at six different clubs in the East London and Essex area.
Traditionally, Leaside has performed well at these events.
This year has been no different, with Leaside coming a close second at the first race at Bishops Stortford with a record number of paddlers for the club. Leaside also took a strong team to Barking & Dagenham club, where we came second again.
The bad weather saw races postponed and the first race in 2011 was Cambridge on 9th January. Leaside took a small, but determined team, with some outstanding results, to see the club coming second (again!)
Special mention should go to James Mulholland who managed to win his under 15’s general purpose boat class.
The club looks forward to the next series race in Chelmsford on 23rd January.
